October Trick-or-Treat Critique Mystery Guest!

Are you an SCBWI Ohio North member that wants verbal feedback on your work-in-progress from a mystery agent?

It’s our treat!

October Trick-or-Treat Critique with Mystery Agent Feedback will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm with an added bonus of a 30-minute Q&A from 9:00 – 9:30 pm.

Want to participate? Here’s how:

Although this event is free to SCBWI members, registration is required. Click here to access the registration page.

The Mystery Agent will provide feedback to 10 participants. Because the number of slots available for feedback are limited, slots are open only to SCBWI Ohio North members.

There will be an option to register for the waitlist for SCBWI Ohio North members to share work, in case anyone drops out or doesn’t show up.

All SCBWI members can sign up to listen in to the critique session and participate in the 30-minute Q&A.

For Members Sharing Manuscripts with the Mystery Agent:

Each participant signed up to share will read their work aloud and be asked to share their manuscript on-screen so the mystery agent can read along.

You can share a picture book or pages from a longer work. There should be enough time to read an entire picture book manuscript (approx. 600 words) or 3-4 double-spaced pages from a longer work. The SCBWI Ohio North Regional Team will moderate if a piece is longer than what’s recommended for this event in an effort to keep the event on time for everyone.

We won’t reveal the Mystery Agent until the event kicks-off, but we will give you some clues…

Clue #1: My clients are spread out across 14 different states.

Clue #2: I’m a big Winnie-the-Pooh fan (the original more so than the Disney version).

Clue #3: My sister used to live in northwest Ohio.

Clue #4: Fall is my favorite season.

Clue #5: I’ve never dyed my hair.
